Whether you are a newly graduated high school student, someone coming to the end of your teaching career, or somewhere in between, there is a Marist mission that could use your unique skills and experience.

A person who applies to MVA does so because they have an interest in working with children and young people and they wish to share in the Marist mission in a unique way. It is desirable that our volunteers have:

  • An awareness of, and interest in, the culture and religion of other people
  • An ability to cope with change and a willingness to adapt to new situations
  •  A willingness to learn
  • A capacity to work as a member of a team
  • A realistic sense of his or her own strengths and limitations
  • An openness to living in a community with fellow Marists
  • An openness to being spiritually enriched
  • Boundless generosity
